First Impressions: The Transplants
Occasionally there are albums I’ll listen to and think “wow, I should tell someone about this!” but don’t necessarily have time or patience to write a full blown review. So I’ve created the First Impressions category, which is, as the name would suggest, my first impressions of an album based on a single listen. Will it hold up on repeated listens? Will it grow on me? Will it fade fast? I’m not concerned about these matters – this category is all about the current moment.

Album: The Transplants
Artist: The Transplants
First Impressions: The first album from punk “supergroup” Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Travis Barker (Blink-182), and Rob Aston (er .. friend of Armstrong I guess). Totally unexpected stylistically (it’s more hip-hop than punk) but really really well done. I’m impressed!
