Bad Lieutenant, which is basically New Order – Peter Hook + Alex James (Blur), has put their first single “Sink or Swim” up for free download.

It’s always nice to have Bernard around. He has such an effortless cool that I can’t help but be smitten by most everything he does. That said, “Sink or Swim” is essentially a New Order track where they moved Hooky’s bassline to lead guitar. Not the same.

Alex James, while not on Hooky’s level, is no slouch on bass so I’m holding out hope they utilize him more on the album than what’s indicated here. So I remain cautiously optimistic.
